Operating principle:

The safety valve (lock) is used to block the movement of the actuator in both directions. It ensures that the position of the piston rod is stabilised when the actuator is not being controlled while high forces are acting on it. The valve lock ceases to function when we start to control the hydraulic manifold and release pressure towards the cylinder.
